This Privacy Policy document explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). By using Zen Bear, you agree to the terms described in this policy.

Crucial Privacy Standard: All app selection tokens, focus timer schedules, and distraction shielding rules are processed entirely locally on your device via Apple's native FamilyControls and ManagedSettings frameworks. We do not have access to, collect, store, or transmit this data to any external server.

1. Information Collection

We believe in absolute data minimization. Below is the breakdown of the limited information used by the App:

Local Personalization Data: The name and gender you optionally enter during onboarding, your focus preset preferences, completed study sessions, focus streaks, custom timer intervals, selected ambient environments, and cat companion choices are stored strictly in your device's local storage (UserDefaults).
Screen Time & Managed Settings: The App utilizes Apple's FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks to enable application shielding during focus sessions. Your selected applications (application tokens) are strictly stored and processed on-device by Apple's secure sandboxed frameworks. We never transmit or log this data.
Purchase and Billing Data: All payments and subscriptions are processed directly through Apple's StoreKit framework. We do not collect or store your billing credentials, credit card details, or payment transactions.

2. Information Usage

We use the local personalization details solely to customize your experience within the App, including:

Tracking your daily focus minutes, Pomodoro session streaks, and 7-day study history locally on your device.
Enabling App Lock shields automatically when focus timers are active offline on your phone.

3. Third-Party Services & SDKs

We do not use any external advertising networks, trackers, or user profiling SDKs. We do not share, sell, or rent any personal information to third parties.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Because all of your personal configuration and progress data is stored locally on your device:

Deleting the App from your device will immediately and permanently erase all locally stored data, including your focus statistics, streaks, and local settings.
You can reset your statistics or change your settings at any time in the Settings menu within the App.

5. Children's Privacy

Zen Bear is designed for users of all ages looking to improve their time management and study focus. We do not knowingly collect, request, or transmit personal data from children under the age of 13.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
